Inca Trail Cusco Inca Trail

The Inca Trail, which takes place in four days beginning on the Piscacucho checkpoint, also known as "Km 82", which is three hours by bus from the city of Cusco. The road to Machu Picchu is a trip of 42 miles.

Climate: The climate in the area of the Inca Trail is generally mild throughout the year. The best time for trekking is during the dry season (April-October). June is the coldest month and August offers a warm and stable climate. From November to March, the rains are frequent and the road can become a dangerous and slippery mud.
During the walk, it is dry in the first two days and humid in the third and fourth. During the night the first two camps are usually cold, but the third camp is warm.

ATTRACTIONS
Along the way there are several ruins of various forts in relatively good condition, visually dominating all the valleys.
The tour begins in the town of Qoriwayrachina (Quechua: Qoriwayrachina, 'venteadero gold')?, At Kilometer 88 of the Cusco-Quillabamba railway and takes three to four days of walking to arrive at Machu Picchu. At the crossing, which traverses an extraordinary altitudinal gradient, with climates and ecosystems as diverse as high Andean plateau and cloud forests, two steps must be overcome at high elevation (the eldest, Huarmihuañusca, 4,200 meters above sea level also known as "Dead Woman's Pass") and ends with the entrance to Machu Picchu through the Inti Punku or "Gate of the Sun."
On the route the traveler will find a network of settlements carved granite rock that are along the way (Huinay Huayna, Puyupatamarca), immersed in natural settings.
As ideal complement, tourists will find equally exuberant nature, unique landscapes that nature holds the Inca Trail, hundreds of species of orchids and colorful birds.

When making the trek on the Inca Trail you can follow the following path:
