The Qoricancha was the most important temple was built Tahuantinsuyo in the city of Cusco during the Imperial period in the history of the Incas. The Qoricancha, "enclosure of gold," Temple of the Sun, is a beautiful sacred place that the Inca Pachacutec ordered built after his victory over the Chancas 1438. Before that the Incas worshiped the sun in a small temple called Inti Cancha. The festival of Inti Raymi starts in Qoricancha from the Inca Semicircular Tower begins the ceremony.

  • The Royal Apartments: The chroniclers indicate that the temple of the sun had several rooms or shrines, dedicated to their gods and idols, after the able leadership of Pachacuteq emerged Apartments of the Sun, the Moon, the Stars, the Rainbow, the Ray.
  • The room of the Sun: The Sun as the Father of the Incas was necessary to build a temple and in this one room that constituted the best jewel that existed in this temple.
  • The Qoricancha Altar: In the Upper Room of the Sun, in the altar there was a drawing of the Religious Inca Cosmogony, which is the most amazing and almost unknown to the chroniclers.
  • The Semicircular Tower: Located on the west side of the room which corresponded to the Sun
  • When performing cleaning and restoration work in 1960 was found inside various objects until lithic fragments belonging to the ceremonial niches as well as pottery shardThe City of Cusco is the main destination of Peru turísco with the biggest range of tourism and travel in Perus.

Located north of the Plaza de Armas and the city of Cusco, about 2 km. It has an area of 3,000 hectares.
The translation of the Castilian SACSAYHUAMAN this is Quechua Sated Hawk. The area is Sacsayhuaman corresponds to the head of the sacred animal, and one of the translations have this word is precisely Head Puma. Pachacuti Inca Yupanqui, the ninth Inca, redesigned the city and gave shape lying Puma (puma is a sacred animal).

  • Incas Throne: This is a geological formation that looks like a hill with a series of ripples that form parallel grooves in the rock. At the top is called the "throne of the Inca", also called K'USILLUP HINK'INAN, since this place has a good view of all the archaeological complex.

Qenqo:
It is located on the hill called Socorro, 4 km northeast of the city of Cusco and one kilometer of Sacsayhuaman. Apparently this is a place of cult of water. We found several rock carvings among which stands a large monolith that it is believed was used for ritual worship of water, but there are those who say that it was a great sculpture carved and was subsequently destroyed by the extirpators of idolatry.
The word means maze Qenqo twisted. The name translates as zigzag, Qenqo found small carved channels that served to drive the beer or the blood of the sacrifices of the flames, there is also the underground chamber, the Intihuatana. Two Qenqo: the Great, who is at the foot of the road that goes from Pisac Sacsayhuaman up, and Chico, which is 350 meters west of the former, on the hillside.
